Product Description
The Puretec UF10 is an Industrial/Commercial grade filtration system, ideal for final stage filtration where colloidal / unsettled particles are present. It’s micron rating is low enough to physically exclude bacteria in water.
Ultrafiltration (UF), a type membrane filtration, is when water is forced against semi-permeable membranes by hydrostatic pressure. Ultrafiltration employs hollow fibres made of membrane material. The feed water flows in either the shell or the lumen. The membrane allows water and other low-molecular-weight solutes to pass through, but suspended solids are retained. The only difference between ultrafiltration and microfiltration, reverse osmosis or nanofiltration is the size of the molecules that it retains. Size exclusion is the primary mechanism for removing contaminants.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
• Reduces suspended solids, turbidity, colloids & tannin.
• Certified and tested to remove bacteria, viruses & cysts.
• Size-exclusion filtration as opposed to media depth filtration.
• Good quality and constant supply of the treated water in terms of particle and microbial removal.
• Flow rate of up to 45 Lpm.
• Automatic daily backwash.
• 0.02 micron filtration.
WHAT DOES PURETEC UF10 REMOVE FROM WATER?
one of the most significant dissolved contaminants. UF is highly effective in removing colloids and bacteria as well as tannins, pyrogens and proteins. The UF membrane’s pore size is the main determinant of the type and size contaminants removed, which the pore size of the UF10 membrane is 0.02 micron.B. UF membranes can be used when virtually all colloidal particles, including most pathogenic organisms, must be removed. However, most of the
Dissolved solids can pass through the membrane and not cause problems downstream or in finished water. UF can remove most turbidity
Water. UF does not remove low molecular weight organics or ions like sodium, calcium and magnesium chloride. Membranes. Membranes are only made from high-molecular-weight species. negligible. High flow rates can be achieved from Ultrafiltration membranes with low applied pressures.C. Ultraviolet sterilization is recommended in cases where bacteria is an issue.
