If you want more from one tap, the Peppy Taps 4-in-1 Boiling, Chilled & Ambient Tap delivers boiling filtered water, chilled filtered water and normal hot and cold mains water, using a 2.4 litre open vent boiler with seven preset temperatures up to 98°C. The Puretec Sparq H2 dispenses boiling or filtered ambient water from a single tap, using Puretec's Ultra Z filtration (0.1 micron, nominal).
Under sink hot water heaters
For hot rather than boiling water at a single outlet, such as a kitchen sink, a compact storage heater like the Stiebel Eltron SNE 5 is an option. It's an open-vented, German-made unit with a digital display, timer and ECO modes.
What to check before you buy
- Cupboard space: measure the space under the sink, allowing for the waste pipe, any filter cartridge and access for servicing.
- Power: these units need electricity under the sink. Check the electrical requirements on the product page; any new power point or hard-wired connection must be done by a licensed electrician.

An under sink hot water heater, like the Stiebel Eltron SNE 5, supplies hot water for washing at a single outlet. Some kitchens use both: a boiling water tap for drinks and a heater for a sink that's a long way from the main hot water system.
Can a boiling water tap also give filtered or chilled water?
Some can. The Peppy Taps 4-in-1 models deliver boiling filtered water plus either chilled or ambient filtered water, along with normal hot and cold mains water, all from one tap. How hot does the water get from a boiling water tap?

Can I install an under sink boiling water unit myself?
No. In Australia, connection to the water supply must be done by a licensed plumber. Do filtered boiling water taps need maintenance?
