Puretec WH2-55 AMC (WH2-55AMC-LF) with aluminium cover
The Puretec WH2-55 AMC (model WH2-55AMC-LF) is Puretec’s WH2-55 whole house water filter for mains water, fitted with an aluminium Architecturally Mounted Cover. Inside, it’s identical to the standard WH2-55: a PX05MP2 sediment cartridge (5 micron*) and a CB10MP2 carbon block (10 micron*) reduce sediment, chlorine, chemicals, taste and odour at up to 55 Lpm, with no power needed.
What the WH2-55AMC cover adds
Puretec says the aluminium cover is “built to withstand the elements with its tamper-proof casing”, keeping the system secure and tidy wherever it’s installed. Two black handles hold it on; loosen them and it slides forward for cartridge changes.

Service schedule
| Every 6–12 months | Replace both cartridges, depending on water quality and usage, or when taste and odour return. The GR-WH255 kit has both, plus O-rings and lubricant. |

Changing the cartridges
- Turn off the water and relieve the pressure.
- Loosen the two black thumb handles and slide the cover forward.
- Unscrew the bowls (wrench provided) and clean them with soap and warm water.
- Lubricate the O-rings, seat the new cartridges and hand-tighten the bowls.
- Turn the water on, purge the air, run it for 2 minutes, refit the cover and check for leaks.
Installation
Puretec requires installation by a licensed plumber. Point-of-entry installs need an approved dual check backflow prevention device, and a pressure limiting valve may be required; your plumber will confirm. Neither is included. Avoid direct sunlight, protect it from freezing and leave 50 mm under the bowls.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between the WH2-55 AMC and the WH2-55?
Only the aluminium cover (AMC stands for Architecturally Mounted Cover). Filtration, cartridges, flow and warranty are the same. Without the cover, choose the standard WH2-55.
Which replacement cartridges does the WH2-55AMC take?
PX05MP2 and CB10MP2, the same as the WH2-55, or both in the GR-WH255 kit, which Puretec lists for the WH2-55AMC-LF.
Can it go in direct sunlight?
Puretec’s installation guide, which covers the WH2-55AMC, says to avoid direct sunlight. The cover is for weather and tamper protection.
Will it soften hard water?
No. Puretec suggests pairing it with a SOL Series softener, such as the SOL30-E3.
